About Respect@Work Training For Managers

The Respect@Work course provides managers with the expertise and knowledge required to lead, cultivate and sustain a positive workplace environment, where employees feel safe, valued and respected. It equips managers with the knowledge and skills to prevent and respond to such incidents, fulfilling their legal obligation under the Sex Discrimination Act 1984. Training usually covers understanding the positive duty, recognising unlawful conduct, and implementing practical strategies to foster a respectful and inclusive workplace. 

The Respect@Work course for managers provides a comprehensive turnkey solution to the significant new compliance regime with very little or no disruption to business operations. It involves annual training for line managers in their statutory obligations under the positive duty legislation, empowering leaders to effectively navigate the positive duty guidelines and foster a safe, secure workplace.

Training Overview

The Respect@ Work course is a complete workplace training solution for managers. As managers, the course focuses on meeting the positive duty with an emphasis on leadership and responsibility.

  • What constitutes sexual harassment, discrimination and victimisation in the workplace?
  • What is the manager’s responsibility to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace?
  • How to identify when sexual harassment has occurred and respond to complaints
  • How to handle reports of sexual harassment by responding promptly and appropriately
  • How to model respect at work through your own behaviour as an example to employees
  • How to contribute to a workplace that is safe and respectful

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Recognise inappropriate behaviour in the workplace
  • Understand the importance of modelling appropriate behaviour to employee
  • Develop strategies for creating a safe and respectful workplace
  • Gain confidence in dealing with inappropriate behaviour or complaints of sexual harassment or discrimination

Training delivery is online in a 30 minute webinar, delivered through the Positive Duty training portal.  

  • The training is delivered via an online module.
  • The training can be accessed from any we-enabled device 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

  • Once the attendees have viewed the module an attendance certificate is issued to the employer by Positive Duty as third party certification that the training has been delivered.
